BLUEBOTTLES ARE NOT FUN!

This is Nobby's Beach. This is the exact beach we were at when I got stung.

When you are stung by a Bluebottle jellyfish... it hurts! I reckon it hurts more then a bee sting. I learned the hard way how much a quick touch of a tenticle really, really hurts!

This blue bottle jellyfish looks just like the one that stung me out in the water.

When you get stung it feels like you are hot and cold at the same time. I got stung on my hand, and I found that my fingers became tingly, like pins and needle feeling when your foot goes to sleep. When the poison began moving in my body I could feel it in different parts, like all of a sudden it was in my shoulder. It was a good thing the lifeguard was there to tell my dad what we needed to do to stop the poison from doing more. 
The lifeguard warned that if I became all nauseous I would have to go to the hospital because it was a sign that I would have breathing problems. The lifeguard told us to keep my hand in the bucket of really hot water to stop the poison (neutralize it). 
If we ever live closer to a beach and someone gets stung by a blue bottle then we can just use our shower instead; that's what the lifeguard said he does with his own children.

Bluebottles are also called "Portuguese Man of War".

One flies, one swims but both roll on the ground... can you guess what they are?

I want to start off by saying that I think airplanes are a great invention. I think they are a great invention because they let people go so fast in the air. It is a really fun way to travel. 

I learned about these two brothers who were the first inventors of the airplane: the Wright Brothers... thanks guys! It was because of them that the Spitfire was invented.

The Spitfire plane is one of the most famous planes in world  war 2. Also, the Spitfire had 8 machines gun! You should look this up! and the spitfire is army green and brown and one

 bulls-eye blue and red!

The Duck,while it had a pretty funny Name the Duck is not really it is not a Duck. it is a truck its name is Duck.I like to call it a Duck truck. it is a boat with six well. It has one machine gun and has two front lies. wait until I do my next post!

AUSSIE WORD OF THE DAY:Fruit  loop means fool
I saw a fruit loop at the skate park today. He wasn't wearing a helmet.

Before I had my own skateboard, I had to use my brothers.

Then one day we went to someone's house, and they had a skateboard that they didn't want any more, so they gave it to me... for FREE!

It is a great skateboard, but the skateboard has no grip on the wood. The wheels are orange, I like that it has orange wheels.  It has a Spiderman picture on the bottom of the deck, plus the wheels say "Spiderman" on them. I like my board but I hope to have a new one soon. I'm saving for a new one.

I want my new one to have red grip tape along the top and the bottom to have a picture of a dragon breathing fire!!! Even though I like the color orange I want my new wheels to be dark red.

Sometimes I also ride a scooter or my bike. Out of the two I prefer my bike... 

 I used photoshop to play with the different colors, tones and lines....

but out of them all I still like my skateboard best!

On my first page I asked if you knew how many heads fit on a body? Well the answer is 8!

8 for men and 7.5 for women is the general rule of thumb for drawing!

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!!

We used to live in QLD but now live in NSW.

Hi! My name is Alex. I come from Canada. I am 7.5 years old. I am the second oldest of 5 kids in my family, and we are all living in Australia. 

We will have been here for two years next month. 

I don't really like living in Australia because I miss the snow so much. My favourite thing to do in the snow was to slid down big snow hills on our disc sleds. My mom would push us so we would spin in circles while we were racing down the hill. It was so much fun!

I do have fun here. I am in Scouts. Well actually I am in Cubs, but it is part of Scouts. We go get to play games, do crafts and go to camps, which is fun.

We used to do horse riding, archery, rock climbing and soccer. It was all fun, but we are taking a break from all that right now. 

Now I LOVE to do art.

This is Mdm. Suzie - she teaches us French and Art.

We have a special teacher come in on Fridays to help us learn to do different kinds of art.
